French Immersion/Francophone Homework Club:
"Le Club des Devoirs"

Students registered in this program, will come to the Centre twice (2) a week for a total of 2.5hours per week (75 minutes per class). They will get the opportunity to work in a positive, quiet and non-disturbing working environment. Unlike completing homework at the kitchen table or in front of the television, the Homework Club will allow students to focus and have a clear mind while completing their tasks. It will also be quite motivating to be surrounded by their fellow peers! At French Solutions, we understand that different minds learn differently and our instructors are dedicated to finding ways and methods to provide students with the necessary tools to become efficient and independent learners. By receiving such close attention from their instructors, students will gain confidence in their own capabilities, won't fear to ask questions and will no longer see homework as such difficult task. Once students have completed their work, they will partake in different activities (reading, writing and listening) to work on their weaknesses.

Saturday Morning French Immersion Program:
"Viens T'amuser en Français"

The Saturday Morning French Immersion program is designed to educate and motivate French Immersion students from grade 1 to grade 4 in a fun, interactive and social environment. French Solutions activities include: reading comprehension (interpreting and understanding texts), grammar and sentence structure (spelling and punctuation), vocabulary enrichment (new words), creative writing (composing letters and stories), songs and kinesthetic (singing with movements) and communication activities (drama and ice breakers). Included in the Saturday morning session, is an intensive 45 minutes reading program which helps students to become independent readers.

Saturday Afternoon Core French Programs: "Découvre les Merveilles du Français"

The Saturday afternoon Core French Program has been created to teach students (Sk to grade 3), who have not studied French, basic writing and communication skills. For those who are currently studying Core French at school (Grade 4 to 6), they will receive additional knowledge on subjects learned in order to further expand their understanding of the French language. Included in the Saturday afternoon session, is an intensive 45 minutes reading program which teaches students the sounds of the French language along with its language patterns. In such, they will acquire the basic skills to start reading correctly.

Children Day Program: "Les Petits Doués"

This weekly day program is dedicated to children (4 to 5 years old) who will hopefully pursue elementary studies in French. It will prepare students to meet the expectations of the French Immersion Grade 1 curriculum. The program includes: introduction to the alphabet, vocabulary, numbers, geometrical shapes,colors and basic sentences. The French Solutions' staff will incorporate songs with actions and other activities such as memory games and simple crafts to the program. It is offered on Monday and Tuesday mornings. For those who are choosing the 2 day a week program, the days are Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday.

Tutorial Services

French Solutions offers one on one or group tutoring for all ages. The tutorial services are support systems for children studying the French language. Tutoring includes homework help, support in weak areas and academic enhancement. With the help of qualified instructors, French Solutions guaranties excellent teaching services respecting the Ontario Ministry of Education's French Immersion and Core French curriculum. These services are offered after school hours. One on one tutoring and group tutoring sessions will take place at the French Solutions Centre.

French Immersion Back to School Prep

This program will give your child the opportunity to begin the school year on the right foot. It is offered to children entering grade 1, grade 2 or grade 3 French Immersion studies. Through activities such as writing, reading comprehension and communication games, your child will gain valuable tools and build confidence for their upcoming year. Please note that this is a half day program and is only offered during the last week of August (August 23rd to 27th 2010). Limited spaces are available.
